September update — writing by voice, AI replies, links and YouTube

Writing by voice
A Write by voice button now sits on the writing page and next to "Write an entry" in the Library. Tap it and speak; each finished sentence is written down. Tap Done when you have finished.
Your voice is not sent to askora's servers. On the web, your browser's speech recognition is used, and depending on the browser it may be processed on that company's servers. In the iPhone app, it stays on the device where the device supports it.
AI replies
Turn on Get an AI reply when you save an entry, and a reply appears under it a little later.
- If you wrote about something similar before, the reply shows that day's date and your sentences. The sentences are taken from your entries as written, never rewritten by the AI.
- It adds one short line about today's entry.
- The reply arrives a few minutes to an hour after you save: sooner for a short entry, later for a long one.
- Night Drawer entries never get a reply and are never used as earlier entries.
For an entry you already wrote, open it and tap Get an AI reply. You can remove a reply at any time.
Links and YouTube
- A Link button is in the writing tools. Add a web address, or link words you selected.
- An entry with a YouTube address shows the video when you open it. Tap to play it in place.
- Text copied from a website is pasted as plain text, without its styling.
- Marks such as `bold` in text pasted from an AI answer become real formatting.
- A Code or boxed text button sets code or other text apart.
Date and time
A new entry starts on today's date and the current time. You can change both, and the time now shows in the list and in the entry.
Library
- Choose a category at the top to see only its entries.
- Change an entry's category right from the reading view, without opening the editor.
- Gather entries into topics. Open an entry and tap Add to topic.
Recall
Recall now finds entries by the meaning of your question more accurately, and a follow-up question builds on the one before it.
Privacy Policy and Terms
We updated the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use for AI replies, writing by voice and plans. The Privacy Policy lists the changes at the top.
