Threads-style screens and Home swipes

The iPhone app 1.0.21 changes the screens so they are easier to use with one hand, in the style of Threads. Get it on the App Store.

Bottom bar

  • Five slots: Home, Recall, Write, Library and Me. The Write button is in the center.
  • The round highlight behind the selected tab slides smoothly when you change tabs.

Writing screen

  • The top has Cancel, a title and More, and the body starts without a frame.
  • The tool row is one line of icons: microphone, photo, link summary, alarm, text style (Aa) and More. Photo and link open with one tap.
  • Aa opens bold, italic, list, quote, code and link in one row.
  • At the bottom are the entry options (Vault, AI reply) and a Save button.
  • If you leave with text you have not saved, you choose between Keep writing, Save and leave, Keep as draft and leave, and Delete and leave.

Swipes

  • On Home, a swipe to the right opens the library menu. It can start anywhere in the left half of the screen, and it leads to All, Categories, Topics, Highlights, Saved links and the Vault. When you go back from a screen you chose in the menu, the menu is open again.
  • A swipe to the left opens Find. It works on every screen except the writing screen and can start anywhere. Type a question to recall right away, or search your entries below. Swipe to the right to close it.

Other changes

  • When you swipe from the left edge to go back on other screens, the screen follows your finger.
  • The entry reader fills the screen, and long strings or wide code blocks no longer push it sideways.
